Easy Pizza Dough (makes 1 quantity party ring/2 large bases)

2 teaspoons dried yeast

500g strong flour

250ml tepid water

2 tablespoons olive oil

Salt

1 teaspoon Italian herb seasoning

Method

Sponge the yeast by mixing the yeast with 125ml water. Set aside for 5 minutes.

In the mixer, with a dough hook, add the flour, salt, seasoning, olive oil and rest of water.

Add the yeast and mix – it should come together in a ball after a minute – if it doesn’t, add water, a tablespoon at a time until the correct consistency is reached.

Remove the dough hook after 5 minutes. The dough should be pale and smooth. If pulled gently it should recoil back into its shape when released. (stretchy consistency)

Leave to rise for an hour, until doubled in size.

Now, punch the dough and leave to rest for 10 minutes. It is now ready to use.
